ORCHESTRA OF ANXIETY
new works by Manu Luksch and Mukul Patel

The Orchestra of Anxiety is a collection of instruments that use
materials and technologies from the security and surveillance industries
in their construction. The installation at Watermans consists of one
physical instrument, a harp, and drawings of others. The harp has strings
made of razor wire, and requires the harpist to wear protective gloves
while playing. The instrument produces both sound and image when struck,
the strings trigger multiple projections and sound sources.
