<nettime-ann> Globalization criticism, what's next? Call for Papers
|
.
Dear Nettimers,
what role could Berlin play in the globalization
criticism discourse? To which dgree is
individual distinction productive in the course
of protest? And to which degree is hedonism? Why
isn't there any counter narrative to the Bush's
propagandistic saga of a new beginning at the
dawn of the 21st century? And to put it in a
satirical way: why is the operation >Heiligendam<
only an almost perfect stage set? After having
faced and partly answered these questions in the
recent weeks, the editorial team of Berliner
Gazette demands only one more answer: the G8
summit is about to start what is going to happen next?
What questions are going to emerge in the future?
What issues should be brought up and discussed?
How can an opposition inside the already existing
anti-neo-liberal globalization opposition improve
its agenda? How fruitful can such an approach, as
cultivated by the Berliner Gazette, at all be?
How could such a criticism possibly stay in the
spotlight for a long time? Everyone, who feels
that these questions and problems address him/her
as well, or who would like to come up with issues
and questions that productively engage upon the
subject of the discussion, are welcome to contribute.
Your reactions are going to be published in
the >Logbuch< section of the Berliner Gazette.
Therefore we kindly ask you to send in short
texts that are not shorter than 1500 and do not
exceed 2000 characters. In order to forestall the
festivalization of criticism, the contributions
will not only be published in the immediate
context of the G8 summit itself but also in the
weeks and months afterwards. We appreciate a
great variety of approaches and viewpoints.
Please forward this message to all people who
might be interested. If you?ve got any questions,
ideas or statements, please do not hesitate to
