January 19 2008 2PM PROMPT: electronic_light_orchestra with Mikomikona
[DIY video synth]

The complete analogue image modulation or do it yourself
video-synthesizer.

Mikomikona will not only provide insight into the wave structure of
electronic sound and image but also give a brief outline of the media
and arthistory of early experiments in sound-vision-transformations at
the beginning of the 20th century. Participants then can build a small
video-synthesizer which at the end of the workshop will be used for a
joint experimental visual-acoustic concert. No previous experience or
equipment is required.

Background:

Workshops led by field-expert practitioners extend over realms of code
and embedded code, environmental code, noise, transmission and
reception, and electromysticism. Workshops solely utilise free
software and GNU toolbase.
