OLD IS THE NEW NEW
Selected works by Liam Wylie and Jillian Ross – One Night Only!
Thursday, January 20th, 2011 6:00 - 10:00 pm

With this exhibition we propose that there is today a second-life that exists at the permeable boundaries between physicality and virtuality, fact and fiction, spirituality and science, myth and machine. As these age-old adversaries fall into flux, so too are our identities undergoing change, and Old Is The New New attempts to blaze a trail into this new cyber-horizon before it falls beyond the reach of our experiential perception.

Liam Wylie was born in 1989 in Ottawa, Ontario. He is currently in his final thesis year at the Ontario College of Art and Design University. Liam studies Sculpture/Installation and Printmaking and specializes in plastic fabrication, metal fabrication, screen-printing and lithography. With his art he chronicles the mythical moments that spark and sustain our modern mechanical and digital age.

Jillian Ross is twenty one years old. She is currently in her final thesis year at the Ontario College of Art and Design University where she studies as a drawing and painting major. Jillian specializes in new media projects and also explores the potential of art online. With her work she examines the boundary embodied and disembodied viewing experiences. www.super-luxe.com
