[Nettime-bold] New economy workers' strike in Milan |
Today the Virgilio.it workers are on strike in front of the Matrix offices, in Milan (Italy). Matrix is the company that owns Virgilio.it. Matrix recently decided to cut 100 employees out of 300. It's the first public strike done by new economy workers in Italy. The workers calls themselves 'Tute Arancioni' ('Orange suits', orange is the corporate color of Virgilio.it), and now they have a website: http://web.tiscali.it/tutearancioni/index.html. It'd be the start of a different political consciousness among the many new economy workers here. Vinvenzo Vita, a member of the DS (a left party), told that the trade unions must be aware of these new work protests. -- Alessandro Ludovico Neural Online - http://www.neural.it/ daily updated news + reviews Suoni Futuri Digitali - http://www.apogeonline.com/catalogo/614.html ISBN 88-7303-614-7 _______________________________________________ Nettime-bold mailing list Nettime-bold@nettime.org http://amsterdam.nettime.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nettime-bold
