WE WOMEN ACCUSE THIS NEW FPÖVP-GOVERNMENT


WE WOMEN ACCUSE THIS NEW FPÖVP-GOVERNMENT of abolishing the ministry of
women's affairs. The future of the equal opportunity lawyer's office as
well as the three departments for support and coordination of women's
organizations is no longer certain.

WE WOMEN ACCUSE THIS NEW FPÖVP-GOVERNMENT of formulating a program with
conflicting content – their presented concept of supporting family
values and family principles stands in stark contrast to their declared
intention to support women.

WE WOMEN ACCUSE THIS NEW FPÖVP-GOVERNMENT of  ignoring and
discriminating against alternative ways of live as well as single
mothers or same sex partnerships by concentrating on traditional family
value policies.

WE WOMEN ACCUSE THIS NEW FPÖVP-GOVERNMENT of an even stronger gender
segregation in child care and of furthering discrimination against
women's participation in the workfield, caused by their intent to
separate the payment (subsidies) for parental leave from parent's
previously earned income. This will even further reduce women's chances
of re-entering the workfield after maternity leave.

WE WOMEN ACCUSE THIS NEW FPÖVP-GOVERNMENT of not recognizing violence
against women in its full proportion, and that their program contains no
concrete measurements whatsoever to prevent or stop violence against
women.

WE WOMEN ACCUSE THIS NEW FPÖVP-GOVERNMENT of not considering the present
quota of (re)uniting families of immigrants here in Austria to be a
necessity; but instead, they are planning a massive reduction of the
quota, leading towards a zero immigration policy.

WE WOMEN STRONGLY ACCUSE THIS NEW FPÖVP-GOVERNMENT of racism against all
immigrants and people of color in Austria.

WE ACCUSE THEM of neglecting to provide necessary professional and
gender- sensitive support and development possibilities for people who
are classified as differently -abled.

WE ACCUSE THEM of economizing social and educational programs, which
will severely affect women.

WE DEMAND a new government that works on a democratic and pluralistic
basis, a government which supports policies for women's, lesbians',
queer, transgendered and transsexual people's issues and rights. Our
rights are human rights.
