Art for Networks forthcoming events for November Chapter Market Rd Canton Cardiff S.Wales CF5 1QE Tel: 029 2030 4400 FREE A4N #3: Heath Bunting: Friday 10th November 2000 at 7pm Heath Bunting emerged from the 80's committed to building open/ democratic communication systems and social contexts. He came from the street up, passing through and often revisiting graffiti, performance, intervention, pirate radio, fax/ mail art and BBS systems to become an active participant in the explosion of the Internet. He has produced many Internet projects, some highly recognised and has helped form a strong context for the practice of net.art. Recently, he has moved into the field of genetics proclaiming it to be the next "new media", and is also making steps towards producing work within financial networks, believing money to be the ultimate media for artistic practice. http://irational.org/heath/ A4N #4: James Stevens: Friday 24th November 2000 at 7pm James Stevens has been one of the driving forces behind BACKSPACE since it was established in 1995. "I am most interested in the setting for practice whatever form that takes, the sense of space that can be achieved through the arrangement of social, structural and creative forces either in a physical location or as conditions for abstraction." Current projects include CONSUME and RADIOSPACE. "Life makes most sense to me when operating with some raw materials a [-n under the] counter-commercial objective and in a fresh social environment. The net is so much more than it's latest fad, we must keep a broad view of where our actions can be effective and impressions persistent.
