Re: <nettime> Paris Burning [u] |
Finkielkraut is a sophiste, he said only that people want to hear, he didn't understand the social reality of people living in suburb. The real trouble is unemployement (1 per 3 is unemployed in the suburb, there is nothing to do, no cultural activity, only buildings), it's not an integration trouble, the most of the people who burned car were unemployed french people. What they destroyed was only in the suburb, they didn't go in Paris to attack french people, they burned car in the suburb. For the young people living in the suburb, it was a way to put the media on them, it was also a reaction against the speech of Sarkozy, a minister who said that "he will clean the suburb with karcher". Finkelkraut never understood the society, he is not an historian, his speech is demagogic. # distributed via <nettime>: no commercial use without permission # <nettime> is a moderated mailing list for net criticism, # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets # more info: majordomo@bbs.thing.net and "info nettime-l" in the msg body # archive: http://www.nettime.org contact: nettime@bbs.thing.net
