Hiya, When I was doing a MA in Political Behaviour at Essex University in 1978-9, I signed up for Michael Taylor's module on anarchism to discover the politics and theory celebrated in the Sex Pistols tune. It had to be more subversive than the socialist Left. However, after reading Mikhail Bakunin's proto-totalitarian musings, I knew that I definately was a Marxist not an anarchist! Within a year, I'd completed my switch to the other side of the split in the 1st International and joined the Labour left. What this student had learnt wasn't what my teacher had intended...
