Isn't the primary (and only?) purpose of these protocols to reduce the number of protocoliriat (TM) (the number of people involved), and simplify the control?
Most people understand cash. Few understand derivatives. Almost no one understands sh*t about Bitcoin. The control pyramid accordingly steepens.
