Trans*Feminist Counter Cloud Action Plan – Workshop NEoN Digital Arts with The Institute for Technology in the Public Interest (Helen V Pritchard, Femke Snelting)
* Are you concerned or have questions about how your organising, organisations and art practices are being rearranged through cloud infrastructures and Big Tech? * Have you seen a transformation and shifts in the way you work and operate, and do you wonder if you should trust that much of your organisation or practice to the cloud? * Do you dream of another type of digital transformation that supports anti-racist work, abolition, environmental regeneration and creative practices? * Do you want to activate a shared imagination for this across Dundee, Scotland and maybe internationally? Join us in an interactive dream space workshop to build solidarity and activate imaginations for Trans*Feminist Counter Cloud Actions. The workshop is aimed at organisers, cultural organisations, artists, designers and activists. In 2020, NEoN invited The Institute for Technology in the Public Interest (TITiPi) to "audit" their daily computational operations, with a view to imagining other environmental and socially "just" digital practices as part of a rethinking of their internal policies and values. The Trans*Feminist Counter Cloud Action Plan offers ways to get the most from a hyperscaledown to learn about slow feminist and queer server practices, including storage, videoconferencing, collaborative working, low-power graphics, and related practices within the field of (digital) art practices and community organising.

About the Artists The Institute for Technology in the Public Interest (TITiPI) is a trans-practice gathering of activists, artists, engineers and theorists initiated by Miriyam Aouragh, Seda Gürses, Helen Pritchard and Femke Snelting. They develop tools from feminisms, queer theory, computation, intersectionality, anti-coloniality, disability studies, historical materialism and artistic practice to generate currently inexistent vocabularies, imaginaries and methodologies.
