Re: <nettime> RIP John

I met him first on Avant-Garde of virginia.edu. What days.

One day he had got something. What is this?

American telecom surveillance had been common in Germany.

RIP !!

I am made very sad by these news and guess y'all should know, he's been always one of us here, John Young just died.

John's "hobbie" on cryptome has been tremendously important for generations, and still today after all the wikileaks yadayada his position comes to me as the most ethical and integral, well reflected by this obituary https://www.theregister.com/2025/05/24/john_young_obituary/

I will miss his sarcastic comments here. We did met in Berlin at transmediale some 20 years ago or so, which was a revelation for me, to discover who was the activist I followed the most since my childhood

I hope his project continues and everyone at Dyne.org is well keen to help in any way we can

ciao
