These guys at the "Urban Legend Reference Pages"
make it their business to collect rumors spread by Internet,
including rumors related to NYC 9.11.

Before cutting-and-pasting some piece of gossip that sounds
really hot and compelling, one might want to mosey over
here and check to see if it's phoney.

They are also collecting widely circulated Internet folktales
which are not in fact rumors, but true.  Those would include
the Coup album cover, the Tamim Ansary essay, and other
interesting staples of decentralized communication.  Well
worth a look.

The new Nimda virus is not a hoax; slashdot.org features
any number of hands-on eyewitness encounters with it.
