Onderstaand bericht leek me relevant voor deze lijst. Next 5 Minutes 
geeft onderdak aan een discussiebijeenkomst over de WSIS (World 
Summit on the Information Society) counter-summit. Ter voorbereding 
wordt op donderdag 11 september van 12.00 - 19.00 uur een open 
discussie georganiseerd.

Het WSIS programma tijdens Next 5 Minutes vindt op zaterdag 13 
september, van 17.00 tot 19.00 uur in de Oude Zaal van Melkweg plaats.

On Thursday 11/9, the opening day of the n5m festival there will be 
an open preparation and coordination meeting for counter-WSIS 
activities. the meeting is intended for persons and initiatives that 
are interested in (and willing to invest themselves into the 
preparation of) activities that will take place around the World 
Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva in december of 
this year.

This public discussion is aimed at giving individuals and groups the 
possibility to discuss their perceptions of the WSIS process and 
strategies of intervention and to start coordinating potential 
activities.the current discussion centers around three proposed 
activities.

1) MakeWorlds: A strategic convention before the UN summit in Geneva
2) ShiversOfSharing: A polimedia lab to multiply tools, skills, 
experiences, knowledge
3) HighNoon: A World revolution in form of a netcast for three days. 
Spin round independent media activism and community media projects 
across the globe.

the outcomes of the preparation and coordination meeting will be 
presented during the panel 'Going WSIS?' that will take place on 
saturday from 1700h to 1900h within the n5m festival programme (see:

meeting should send a mail signaling their intention to participate

the meeting will take place at Waag Society. WS is based in the old 
waag building (looks like a castle) in the middle of the nieuwmarkt 
place in the center of amsterdam. This should be easy to   find once 
you are in amsterdam. The entrance to the meeting space is to the 
right of the restaurant that is located on the ground floor of the 
building.
