We would like to invite you to join us on
27 April, 15:00-18:00
for a colloquium on THE MATRIX with guest scholar Dr. Stefan Herbrechter, Senior Lecturer in Cultural Analysis, Department of Media, Film, and Culture, Trinity and All Saints, College of the University of Leeds, editor (together with Myriam Diocaretz) of The Matrix in Theory (Amsterdam and New York: Rodopi: 2006).
Participants are expected to have read Herbrechter's essay "The Posthuman Subject in The Matrix" and Josef Früchtl's piece "Matrix, or the World as Will, Faith and Respresentation" - hard copies are available from Eloe Kingma (ASCA office in Oude Turfmarkt 141) or from m.s.rossini@uva.nl (Herbrechter text) and j.fruchtl@uva.nl (Früchtl text) upon request.
The colloqium takes place in the context of our ASCA course "Exit the human - enter the posthuman".
