7 days 7 nights

Performance by Kyoko Inatome

Kunstfort bij Vijfhuizen, dagelijks te zien van 10-22.00 uur aan de  
rechtzijde van het Kunstfort.

'There are times in our lives when it's necessary to withdraw from  
our social obligations and take some time to be alone in order to  
rejuvenate our energy and renew our connection to ourselves. However,  
there are also times when withdrawal is a red flag, indicating an  
underlying sense of depression or some other problem. In Japan these  
is a social phenomenon known as "withdrawal".
1,2 million people are said to be in social withdrawal, a third of  
them betrween 25 and 30 years old. These individuals have created a  
barrier between them and their surroundings - no friends or family  
members are allowed to come inside. Within this barrier is a creative  
space that is critical and intimately personal to its owner. The  
darker sice is that whitdrawal sufferers tend to use this creative  
space as a protective shell against society and fear.
In the '7 days 7 nights' project I simulate thsi creative withdrawal  
by depriving myself of colors, extra food and an view of the outside  
-- I live minimally in order to push myself to the edge of, or beyond  
" normal" life.
In the  tent I will have only tons of pens and my imiagination.

My 7 days of then life will be filmed at intervals and shown with the  
tent in the exhibition "Global" (opening 2 september 16.00 -) You  
will then be able to go into the tent to experience it for yourself.

2 september â 5 november:
GLOBAL: tentoonstelling ter afronding van de projectatelierperiode.  
Werken in en om het fort en de genieloods.
INTERIORS: Fons Brasser. Fototentoonstelling in de poterne.
September: Fortenmaand
9/10 september: Open Monumentendag
16/17 september: sectorweekend Fortenmaand. 16 september om 15.00  
uur: Fratelli Fiasco, De Dwerg, kindertheater.
4 en 5 november: Kunstlijn/open ateliers
4 november: Museumn8 i.s.m het centrum voor Architectuur (thema  
Reizen en Architectuur).
