In de Soirée de Musique worden drie nieuwe 
composities en audiovisuele werken gepresenteerd 
van Tian Rotteveel, Arnoud Noordegraaf & Luuk 
Vierhout en David Michael DiGregorio & Sung Hwan 
Kim, waarbij technologie, elektronica en de 
menselijke stem steeds weer op verschillende 
manieren worden gebruikt.

Tian Rotteveel - Stemlichaam (werktitel)
Voor geluidskunstenaar Tian Rotteveel is het 
lichaam de eerste ambassadeur van geluid. Met een 
sterke aanwezigheid van technologie en 
elektronica benadert hij de stem, het fysieke 
aspect van geluid op vele wijzen. Geïnspireerd 
door de vele facetten van lichaam en natuur laat 
hij composities ontstaan, waarbij je je als 
bezoeker in de directe omgeving van de uitvoerder 
bevindt.

Arnoud Noordegraaf & Luuk Vierhout - DUMP (werktitel)
DUMP is een multidisciplinaire voorstelling over 
kleine verhalen waarmee mensen betekenis en zin 
aan hun leven geven. De muziek is een hechte 
combinatie van stem, live-elektronica en 
soundtrack. Noordegraaf  verwerkt 
straat-interviews, live-elektronica én video in 
zijn compositie, waarbij fictie en realisme door 
elkaar heen lopen. De volledige voorstelling gaat 
tijdens Festival a/d Werf 2007 in première.

David Michael DiGregorio & Sung Hwan Kim - in the room 2
Deze verhalende muzikale performance van de 
Koreaanse beeldend kunstenaar en performer Sung 
Hwan Kim en de Amerikaanse musicus DiGregorio, is 
gebaseerd op het persoonlijke leven van Sung Hwan 
Kim. Door tekstimprovisaties, muziek, film en 
live video ontstaat het verhaal, waarin de 
vocalist zelf het personage wordt. De muziek is 
sterk vocaal georiënteerd, waarbij de harmonieën 
zich op Beach Boys-achtige wijze vervlechten met 
andere delen van de muziek.

In the Soirée de Musique three new compositions 
and audiovisual works will be presented of Tian 
Rotteveel, Arnoud Noordegraaf & Luuk Vierhout en 
David Michael DiGregorio & Sung Hwan Kim, in 
which technology, electronica and the human voice 
play an important role.

Tian Rotteveel - Stemlichaam (working title)
For sound artist Tian Rotteveel the body is the 
first ambassador of sound. With a strong presence 
of electronics and technology, he approaches the 
voice, the physical aspect of sound in various 
ways. His compositions develop through 
inspiration from the many facets of body and 
nature. The performer and his visitors share a 
direct environment.

Arnoud Noordegraaf/Luuk Vierhout - DUMP (working title)
Dump deals with the small stories used by people 
to give meaning and significance to their lives. 
It is a multidisciplinary performance in which 
fiction and non-fiction merge. The music is a 
strong combination of vocals, live electronics 
and a soundtrack. Noordegraaf for the first time 
mixes interviews, live electronics and video in 
his audiovisual composition. The complete 
performance will premiere at Festival a/d Werf 
2007.

David Michael DiGregorio & Sung Hwan Kim - in the room 2
This musical storytelling performance by the 
Korean visual artist and performer Sung Hwan Kim 
and American musician David Michael DiGregorio, 
is based on the personal life of Sung Hwan Kim. 
The tale is told through text improvisations, 
music, and video. The music of DiGregorio is 
strongly vocally oriented, wherein the thickly 
layered harmonies interweave themselves with 
other parts of the narrative. The interest in 
collaboration with the visual partly lies on how 
a vocalist might turn into a character in the 
storytelling process; or how the story might turn 
into music in return.

The Soirée de Musique starts at 18.00 hours with 
a buffet (included in the fee). The performances 
begin at 18.30 hours and can be seen several 
times during the evening till 22.00 hours.
