INVITATION final session Digital Pioneer Academy
Saturday, October 21st
Time: 14.00 - 17.30
Location: Willem de Zwijger Pakhuis, Amsterdam

The past four months 13 Digital Pioneer projects have been working on a 
business plan. We would like to invite you for the final session on 
Saturday 21st October. During this session the participants will each 
present their plans to a group of experts and compete for three funding 
facilities of EUR 25.000.

The Academy is a spin off from the Digital Pioneer fund. This fund 
gives financial and organisational support to small scale grass root 
content communities that realise innovative projects in the public 
domain on the Internet. Many of the more than 100 projects that were 
supported by Digital Pioneers have a common problem: after a successful 
start, projects have a hard time to scale up their initiative and to 
build a sound financial and organisational basis. Therefore we started 
the Academy.

Most participating projects in the Academy have a thriving community of 
sometimes more than 50.000 members. The digital pioneer projects are 
all set up by creative individuals and illustrate the online 
participatory culture. Their projects influence housing corporations, 
welfare institutions, media corporations, educational sector, medical 
care and municipalities in their strategies to innovate. Their business 
plan is the lay-out for a sound financial future and will exemplify the 
social value of their community and services. More background on the
