in the honor of Norman Klein, who will give a lecture on Wednesday at
the occasion of the Stig/Van Dam book launch, SMBA hosts a series of
artists' presentations this Tuesday, the 17th of October. Guests are:
Norman Klein, Pantelis Makkas, Delphine Bedel, Hala Elkoussy and
Gabriel Lester (still to be confirmed). We also welcome Nina Fischer &
Maroan El Sani, who are coming over from Berlin to start their Zuidas
residency this week.
A common aspect in the the work of all of the invited artists is
a cinematographic approach to the urban environment and architecture,
the history of which is since long part of Klein's studies such as 'The
History of Forgetting' (1997) and 'The Vatican to Vegas' (2003), among
others.
The presentations will take place in an informal setting, with plenty
of possibilities to discuss the various works shown during and after
the session. The drinks are free.
The event starts at 8 p.m. sharp.
Please let me know personally if you want to attend by responding to
this e-mail.
If you want to attend the lecture on Wednesday the 18th, please make a
reservation through mail@smba.nl
