***Apologies for cross postings*** Welcome to the Ninth DIVERSE Conference Wednesday 24th - Friday 26th June 2009, Aberystwyth University http://www.aber.ac.uk/diverse/ diverse-conference2009@aber.ac.uk The DIVERSE Conference is an annual gathering of academics, teachers, technologists and students that engages participants in an ongoing dialogue on the effective uses of visual media in education. The event includes a large number of presentations, discussions and workshops on a range of topics related to the conference themes. * Pedagogy and assessment * Tools and content oriented applications * Projects and cases: implementation and sustainability * People and technology: societal aspects The Ninth DIVERSE Conference will be held from 11am, Wednesday 24th 2pm, Friday 26th June, 2009 at Aberystwyth University on the West Coast of Wales. Keynote speakers Keynote speakers include: · Carol Daunt Skyring, CEO LearnTel, Australia http://www.learntel.com.au/index.cfm <http://www.learntel.com.au/index.cfm> Call for Papers · The Call for Papers is now officially open. · You can download the abstract form from the conference web-site http://www.aber.ac.uk/diverse/ <http://www.aber.ac.uk/diverse/> (click on Call for papers tab). · Abstracts must be submitted by Friday 27th February, 2009. · Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words. · All abstracts will be peer reviewed prior to acceptance after which you will be notified whether your abstract has been accepted or not. · If you are unfamiliar with the themes, levels of technicality or academic register of DIVERSE, please review some of the abstracts for the previous three DIVERSE Conferences in Glasgow, Lillehammer and Haarlem. They will be providing a hands-on approach to working with technologies. · On Saturday 27th June, we will be organising an After Conference trip to a beautiful location in Wales. There will be an extra cost for the trip and we will be providing full details in the next update.
