– 1st World-Wide Poetry Film
Award and Festival, July 2-5, 2002 Organised
by the literaturWERKstatt Berlin in co-operation with interfilm
berlin Sponsored
by the German Staatsminister für Kultur und Medien
(Hauptstadtkulturfonds). This
is the first time that the ZEBRA Poetry Film Award will be awarded
as part of the renowned international literature festival, the "Berliner
Sommerfest der Literaturen". The
first world-wide poetry film award creates a platform which is intended to
enable comparison and exchange between productions both now and in the future.
An
international jury of film producers and directors, as well as representatives
from the fields of television, video art and poetry will award at least three
cash prizes. An audience prize and prizes in kind are also planned. A viewing
commission will make a preliminary selection for the final competition.
Participants in the final competition will be informed by June 1, 2002 and can claim expenses for
travel to the event. All
films and videos in all formats with a maximum length of 10 minutes can be
entered - so long as they concentrate on one or more poem. Since the first
invitation for applicants will also be used to provide an initial overview of
already completed productions, the year when such productions were completed is
irrelevant for the competition. Thus, the invitation for applicants is addressed
to ALL previously completed poetry film projects. For this reason, all productions
entered will be shown in public at the festival on July 2–5,
2002. Furthermore,
an international colloquium will concentrate on the aesthetic tension between
"verbal imagery" and "the language of images". The

zur Teilnahme an ZEBRA,
dem 1. weltweiten Poetry Film Award und
Festival vom 2. – 5. Juli 2002. Veranstaltet
von der LiteraturWERKstatt Berlin in Kooperation mit interfilm
berlin. Unterstützt
vom Staatsminister für Kultur und Medien
(Hauptstadtkulturfonds). Eingebettet
in das renommierte internationale Festival „Berliner Sommerfest der Literaturen“
wird 2002 zum ersten Mal der POETRY FILM AWARD ZEBRA
ausgeschrieben. Der
Wettbewerb schafft eine Plattform, die fortan einen Vergleich und einen
Austausch der Poetry Film Produktionen untereinander ermöglichen wird.
Eine
international besetzte Jury aus Produzenten und Regisseuren sowie aus den
Bereichen TV, Videokunst und Poesie vergibt mindestens drei Geldpreise. Darüber
hinaus sind ein Publikumspreis sowie weitere Sachpreise vorgesehen. Eine
Sichtungskommission trifft die Vorauswahl. Die Teilnehmer des Endwettbewerbs
werden bis zum 1. Juni 2002 benachrichtigt und können einen Unkostenbeitrag für
die Anreise beantragen. Zur
Teilnahme am Wettbewerb um ZEBRA sind alle Videoproduktionen aufgerufen, die
sich bei einer maximalen Spieldauer von 10 Minuten mit einem oder mehreren
Gedichten auseinander setzten. Weil die erstmalige Ausschreibung des Preises
auch dazu genutzt werden soll, einen ersten Überblick über bisher entstandene
Produktionen zu schaffen, spielt das Produktionsjahr bei der Bewerbung keine
Rolle. Der Aufruf zur Teilnahme wendet sich deshalb explizit an ALLE bislang
realisierten Poetry Film Projekte. Aus
diesem Grund sollen auch alle eingereichten Produktionen auf dem Festival vom 2.
– 5. Juli 2002 öffentlich gezeigt werden. Ergänzend
dazu wird sich ein internationales Kolloquium mit dem ästhetischen Spannungsfeld
„Wortbild-Bildsprache“ beschäftigen. Der
Einsendeschluss ist der 30.4.2002. Die
