[Nettime-ro] lansarea documenta 12 Magazine #2/Berlin/b_books

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

We would like to invite you to the presentation of the
second edition of 'documenta 12 Magazine'.

The 'documenta 12 Magazine No. 2: Life!' will be
presented by b_books and Pro qm in Berlin within the
framework of a montagsPRAXIS and discussed together
with Georg Schöllhammer (editor-in-chief of documenta
12 magazine), Maria Berrios, Cosmin Costinas, Cordula
Daus and Hu Fang (editors of documenta 12 magazine).

b_books together with Pro qm will be running the
documenta 12 bookstore: a temporary fusion of two
bookstores, but also a double experiment. The
presentation of the second magazine forms the launch
of their joint activities around the documenta 12.

Where the first edition of the 'documenta 12 Magazine'
was dedicated to the manifold meanings of the term
modernity, the multiple forms of modernism and the
local dialects of modernity, the subject now is
nothing less than 'Life!'. The selection of articles
all revolve around the central question of documenta
12: "What is bare life?" They discuss the meaning of
the term "bare life", a term which has become a
central conception in many contemporary aesthetic and
political discussions. The articles show that bare
life can have many facets, even unexpected, light,
lyrical or even cheerful facets.

'documenta 12 Magazine' is published by TASCHEN and is
available in bookstores as well as the internet under
www.documenta.de and www.taschen.com.
