About Slick.
In 19th of October 2007, *_Slick 07* will be opening its doors in Paris's
20th District during "Contemporary Art Week in Paris." For this second round
and given the success of the first edition, we decided to build
*_Slick 07*on the perfected and enhanced foundations of
*_Slick 01*.
*_Slick 07* is a fair for scouting out talented and passionate emerging
galleries and artists. It is a place of discovery for its audiences, with
many of the exhibiting galleries opened in the past year. It is also a
springboard towards the international art market, by taking advantage of the
prestige of the FIAC.
*_Slick 07* is a meeting place between the art enthusiasts, the curious and
the professionals around contemporary art in progress - including painting,
sculpture, drawings, installations and video - and with particular attention
given to new technologies.
*_Slick 07* is also a place for exchanging ideas. Gallery owners and artists
will carry out performances. A one hundred-seat auditorium will host
lectures by outside contributors, invited by SLICK to speak frankly and
freely about their favorite topics such as nanotechnologies or sponsorship;
and SlickVIDEOArt, a videa art works program.

About Areas of conlflu(x)ence project.
Developed around the theme of the landscape, the Areas of conflu(x)ence
project tries to point out how and how much is the transdisciplinarity
stimulated by the new technologies. They create new networks, displaying
thus new relations between real and virtual landscapes. Installations, sound
and images performances, original ways of using Internet and other digital
technologies are a few of the numerous everyday artistic expressions. They
mirror the diversity and the complexity of the new representation modes.

The Areas of conflu(x)ence project is organized by 2580 Association Cluj and
Arscenic Association Luxembourg as part of the of Luxembourg 2007 and Sibiu
2007 - European Capitals of Culture program. The Romanian part of the
project is realized with the financial support of the Romanian Ministry of
Culture in partnership with the French Embassy in Romania, French Cultural
Institute Bucharest, KIBLA Multimedia Center Maribor Slovenia; Ille et
Villaine Association Sibiu; *.ARTLABS Sibiu; German Cultural Center Sibiu,
