Subject: PAVILION, Buchartest - ART IN GENERAL, New York, residency exchange /please scroll down for English Pentru prima data in Romania, schimb de rezidente intre PAVILION, Bucuresti si ART-IN-GENERAL, New York Incepand cu 2011, PAVILION UNICREDIT este onorat sa faca parte din programul Eastern European Residency Exchange (EERE) al Art-in-General, New York. EERE ofera artistilor posibilitatea sa creeze lucrari noi in contexte noi si sa interactioneze cu comunitatile artistice din New York, Bucuresti si Zagreb. In contextul primului schimb de rezidenti, Ioana Nemes va locui in New York in perioada martie-aprilie 2011 in calitate de artist invitat al Art in General. Finalitatea activitatii sale in contextul rezidentei consta in expozitia personala "Times Colliding", curatoriata de Courtenay Finn si gazduita de Art in General in perioada 25 martie - 7 mai 2011. In cadrul aceluiasi program, artistul american Jason Loebs a fost selectionat de PAVILION pentru o rezidenta in Bucuresti in perioada iunie - iulie 2011. Loebs va realiza o lucrare comisionata special pentru expozitia "From Representing to Constructing Situations" in perioada 02 iunie - 31 iulie 2011, curatoriata de Razvan Ion in centrul de arta si cultura contemporana PAVILION UNICREDIT, va publica o serie de lucrari in PAVILION - journal for politics and culture si va sustine un artist talk in cadrul PAVILION UNICREDIT. Ioana Nemes (n. 1979, Bucuresti, Romania) este unul dintre cele mai cunoscuti artisti romani din generatia ei. Lucrarile ei au fost expuse la SecessionVienna (2010), Istanbul Biennial, (2009), Smart Project Space Amsterdam (2009), U-Turn Copenhagen (2008), Prague Biennial (2007), Bucharest Biennial (2006), si Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel (2006). A obtinut rezidente la IASPIS Stockholm (2010) si Kulturkontakt Vienna (2004) si a primit Future of Europe Art Prize din partea Galerie Für Zeitgenössische Kunst, Leipzig (2007). Jason Loebs (b. 1981) traieste si lucreaza in Brooklyn, NY. Lucreaza cu diverse medii: pictura, colaje, instalatii mixed media, explorand modalitatile prin care este construit prezentul reconfigurand trecutul. Lucrarile sale au fost expuse recent in Voxpopuli, Philadelphia, Evanston Art Center si New Jersey Museum for Contemporary Art. Este in prezent parte a Whitney Museum Independent Study Program. "Lucrarile lui Loebs sunt o meditatie critica asupra istoriei, tehnologiei si posibilitatilor de liberare."(Artforum) Eastern European Residency Exchange este sustinut de Trust for Mutual Understanding si The Pollock-Krasner Foundation. --- For the first time in Romania, residency exchange between PAVILION, Bucharest and ART-IN-GENERAL, New York Starting with 2011, PAVILION UNICREDIT is honored to be a part of the program Eastern European Residency Exchange (EERE) of Art-in-General, New York. EERE offers artists the opportunity to create new works in new contexts and to interact with artistic communities in New York, Bucharest and Zagreb. During this first residency exchange, Ioana Nemes will live in new York between March-April 2011 as a guest artist at Art in General. The result of her activity in the frame of the residency is represented by the solo show "Times Colliding", curated by Courtenay Finn and hosted by Art in General between March 25th - May 7th, 2011. During the same program, American artist Jason Loebs was selected by PAVILION for a residency in Bucharest between June - July 2011. Loebs will complete a work specially commissioned for the exhibition "From Representing to Constructing Situations" between June 2nd - July 31st 2011, curated by Razvan Ion at PAVILION UNICREDIT - center for contemporary art&culture. Loebs will also publish a series of works in PAVILION - journal for politics and culture and will hold an artist talk at PAVILION UNICREDIT.
