*Omul cu aparatul de filmat: O reconstituire globalÄ* (2007-Ãn desfÄÅurare)
este un film crowd-sourced (i.e. participativ) bazat pe celebrul film din
1929 al lui Dziga Vertov intitulat *Omul cu aparatul de filmat*, o lucrare
cinematograficÄ experimentalÄ ce oferÄ portretul unui oraÅ, de la rÄsÄrit
la apus, aÅa cum Ãl vede un cameraman.  ...*O reconstituire globalÄ* prezintÄ
pe un split-screen, Ãn partea stÃngÄ, filmul original al lui Vertov, iar Ãn
partea dreaptÄ, imagini interpretÃnd scriptul original, create de cÄtre
oameni din intreaga lume Åi ÃncÄrcate pe site-ul web

Un software scris special pentru aceastÄ lucrare arhiveazÄ, aÅeazÄ Ãn
secvenÈe Åi difuzeazÄ aceste imagini alÄturi de âperecheaâ lor din filmul
original. Oricine poate ÃncÄrca imagini. Imaginile ÃncÄrcate se schimbÄ Ãn
fiecare zi, astfel incÃt filmul nu va fi niciodatÄ la fel. Astfel, lucrarea
chestioneazÄ Ãntr-un mod creativ principiile normative asociate filmului Åi
tehnologiilor digitale dar, Ãn acelaÅi timp, interogheazÄ Åi patternurile
culturale ale modernismului Åi formulele relativiste ale postmodernismului
legate de valoarea artisticÄ, originalitate Åi auctorialitate.

Perry Bard trÄieÅte Åi lucreazÄ la New York. Proiectele sale individuale Åi
colaborative vizeazÄ Ãn special spaÈiile publice. A realizat ÃmpreunÄ cu
diverse grupuri comunitare instalaÈii video publice Ãn care este abordatÄ
problema ingineriilor reprezentÄrii Ãn media, Ãn locuri ca Staten Island
Ferry Terminal Building din New York Åi Market Square Ãn Middlesbrough, UK.
IntervenÈiile sale publice despre rÄzboiul din Irak includ instalarea unui
billboard pe un vehicol circulÃnd pe strÄzile New York-ului, reclame Ãn
reviste Åi imprimate care ÃnfÄÈiÅau artefactele lipsÄ din Muzeul din
Baghdad.

Lucrarea *Omul cu aparatul de filmat: O reconstituire globalÄ* a primit
numeroase premii Åi distincÈii: a fost numitÄ de Google una dintre cele mai
creative moduri de utilizare a internetului, a fost selectatÄ Ãn Top 25 al
filmelor prezentate la Bienala *YouTube Play* organizatÄ de Muzeul
Guggenheim, a cÃÅtigat menÈiuni de onoare la Ars Electronica â08,
Liedts-Meesen Technological Award 2010, Transitio_MX 2010, Share Festival
Turin 2011 Åi a fost nominalizatÄ la Transmediale Berlin 2009 Åi File â09
Sao Paolo. Lucrarea a fost prezentatÄ la numeroase festivaluri
internaÈionale de film cum ar fi cel de la Moscova (2012), Toronto (2010)
Åi la Festivalul InternaÈional de Film Documentar de la Amsterdam (2009). A
fost instalatÄ Ãn peste 50 de muzee Åi galerii Åi a fost prezentatÄ Ãn
spaÈii publice Ãn Manchester, Leeds, Norwich Åi Sheffield Ãn UK, Ãn
Federation Square din Melbourne, Australia Åi Ãn Seattle, U.S.A.

LucrÄrile sale au fost prezentate printre altele la MoMA New York, the Film
Society at Lincoln Center NY, Rotterdam Film Festival, Muzeul Reina Sofia
Madrid, VideoTage HongKong, Shang Elements Museum Beijing, Bienala de la
MontrÃal, WhiteBox New York, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Zentrum fur
Medienkunst (ZKM) Karlsruhe.

*Man With a Movie Camera: The Global Remake* (2007-ongoing) is a
crowd-sourced film based on Dziga Vertovâs much celebrated film *Man With a
Movie Camera* (1929)âa day-in-the-life portrait of a city from dawn until
dusk, as seen by a  traveling cameraman. ...*The Global Remake* presents on
a split screen, on the left, Vertovâs original film and on the right,
images interpreting the original script created by people around the world
and uploaded to dziga.perrybard.net. Software developed specifically for
this project archives, sequences and streams the submissions as a parallel,
synchronized film. Anyone can upload footage. The uploaded shots are
rotated each day, so the built movie may never be quite the same. The work
tests in a creative mode the normative principles associated to film and
digital technology, but at the same time questions the modernist cultural
patterns and the postmodernist relativist formulae related to the ideas of
artistic value, originality and authorship.

Perry Bard is an artist living in New York. She works individually and
collaboratively on interdisciplinary projects for public space. She has
worked with community groups to address issues of media representation
engineering site specific public video installations for the Staten Island
Ferry Terminal Building in New York and for Market Square in Middlesbrough,
UK. Public interventions about the war in Iraq include a mobile truckside
billboard traveling the streets of New York, magazine ads and coffee cup
sleeves featuring artifacts missing from the Baghdad Museum.

been named by Google one of the 106 most creative uses of the internet, won
Guggenheim Museumâs *Youtube Play* Biennialsâ Top 25, won Honorary Mentions
at Ars Electronica â08, Liedts-Meesen Technological Award 2010,
Transitio_MX 2010, Share Festival Turin 2011, was nominated at Transmediale
Berlin 2009 and File â09 Sao Paolo; it has screened at numerous film
festivals including Moscow International Film Festival 2012, Toronto
International Film Festival 2010 and International Documentary Film
Festival Amsterdam 2009. It has been installed in over 50 venues to date
including museums and galleries and screened on public LED displays in
Manchester, Leeds, Norwich and Sheffield UK, Federation Square Melbourne
Australia, e4c Seattle U.S.A.

Her works have been presented at MoMA New York, the Film Society at Lincoln
Center NY, Rotterdam Film Festival, Reina Sofia Museum Madrid, VideoTage
HongKong, Shang Elements Museum Beijing, Montreal Biennial, WhiteBox New
York, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Zentrum fur Medienkunst (ZKM) Karlsruhe
amongst others.
Bard  also curates and writes for *Afterimage Journal of Media Arts and
