[Nettime-ro] Expozitia "SWITCHED OVER" la VICTORIA ART CENTER |
Timpul capÄtÄ valenÅa calitÄÅii, a intensitÄÅii. *Artisti*: Ètefan Bandalac, Daniel Djamo, Daniel GhercÄ, Adad Hannah, Peter Jacobi, Iosif KirÃly, Petru Lucaci, Andrei Mateescu, George Marinciu, Paula OneÈ, Beniamin Popescu, Lea Rasovszky, Andrei Tudoran. *Echipa curatorialÄ*: Iosif KirÃly, Raluca Oancea Nestor, Raluca Ionescu, CÄtÄlin Gheorghe, Petru Lucaci, Marius TÄnÄsescu. ExpoziÅia se desfÄÅoarÄ Ãn cadrul proiectului cultural ARTÄ. CONSUM. FINITUDINE (ACOFIN), *finanÈat de AdministraÈia Fondului Cultural NaÈional (AFCN) *Åi derulat de Universitatea NaÅionalÄ de Arte din BucureÅti Ãn parteneriat cu Universitatea de Arte George Enescu IaÅi, AsociaÅia Doctoranzilor Åi CercetÄtorilor Ãn Filosofie Èi Victoria Art Center. Proiectul ARTA.CONSUM. *Switched Over* October 23rd â November 2nd 2013 Opening: Wednesday 23 October, 19h00 Victoria Art Center, Calea Victoriei 12C In one of Heidegger's key senses of the term, death describes an event, the only inescapable event for each one of us, as well as a prerequisite of human condition. The acceptance of this precondition, the general assumption of manâs finitude thus becomes a starting point for the valuation of every living moment. Time is enriched with the added value of quality, of intensity. This project is asking whether art can function as an existential switch to turn on the need for authenticity despite our consumerist timeâs tendencies to deliver the daily illusion of a perpetual existence during which man has the possibility to indefinitely postpone essential life decisions and fundamental choices and never confront oneâs values and cultural landmarks. Artists: Ètefan Bandalac, Daniel Djamo, Daniel GhercÄ, Adad Hannah, Peter Jacobi, Iosif KirÃly, Petru Lucaci, Andrei Mateescu, George Marinciu, Paula OneÈ, Beniamin Popescu, Lea Rasovszky, Andrei Tudoran. Curatorial team: Iosif KirÃly, Raluca Oancea Nestor, Raluca Ionescu, CÄtÄlin Gheorghe, Petru Lucaci, Marius TÄnÄsescu. This exhibition is part of the cultural project ART. CONSUMPTION. FINITUDE which is kindly supported by the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN) and developed by the Bucharest National University of Arts in partnership with George Enescu University of Arts, The Association of Doctoral Students and Researchers in Philosophy, and Victoria Art Center. Between May-November 2013, the cultural project ART.CONSUMPTION. FINITUDE (* http://acofin.wordpress.com*) has generated conferences and interdisciplinary workshops attended by visual artists, philosophers, and medical doctors. The purpose of these events has been an awakening in the interest of young artists and theorists on the wide array of issues around the condition of manâs finitude. A series of art exhibitions, whose opening act unfolds at Victoria Art Center, will take place in Iasi and Bucharest from October 2013 and a DVD with the works of participating artists will be edited. -- VICTORIA ART Center for Contemporary Cultural Production www.artvictoria.ro _______________________________________________ Nettime-ro mailing list Nettime-ro@nettime.org http://www.nettime.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nettime-ro --> arhiva: http://amsterdam.nettime.org/
