International Artist Fellowship - Leicester UKArts Council England Fellowship at LCB Depot & The City Gallery LCB
Depot and The City Gallery, Leicester UK are offering the opportunity
of a fellowship for a contemporary artist based in Bulgaria to live and
work in Leicester for 12 weeks.
During the period from January to March 2008, the fellowship
is designed to enable an artist working in any digital format to
research, develop their practices and build links with the
local artistic community here in Leicester.
In addition to an artists stipend of £3000 there is provision
of a dry studio at LCB Depot, travel to and from Bulgaria,
accommodation including a budget for food, a budget for arts materials
and support and mentoring throughout the project by The City Gallery.
The selected artist will have a track record of producing
high quality critically engaged artworks and the ability to meet the
challenges of a practice based research fellowship in relation to the
artistic ethos and cultural contexts of Leicester.
The fellowship will form part of the selected artists
development and artistic growth, and the experience, contacts with
other artists & organisations in the UK will benefit both the
artist and the artistic community where they are based in Bulgaria.
