------------------------------------------------------------- GMD Postdoc Programme 2001 : GMD - German National Research Center for Information Technology Each of the fully paid positions will have a duration of up to two years. A single extension by one additional year is possible. Funding can start in October 2000. The GMD Postdoc Programme is internationally oriented. More than 60 scientist from 15 countries have been working in the framework of this programme in the last four years. Applications must arrive before September 1, 2000. Applicants must have a doctorate degree and demonstrate research experience from projects in research institutions, universities or industry. Good knowledge of English or German is required. A statement of research qualification and interest should accompany the application. Connected Communities The candidate applying for this postdoc position is expected to have a background in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience. Area: He/She should contribute to the implementation of communication and cooperation environments for Connected Communities in media art, culture & technology. Conceptual, technical and aesthetic development of models of participation, knowledge-management. Medial staging of Mixed Reality Environments The candidate applying for this postdoc position is expected to have a background in Media Arts or equivalent experience. Area: He/She should contribute to the implementation of a series of Mixed-Reality work-/spaces. Media integration (Internet/TV/radio/stage) will be explored in the context of cross-media, digital production processes and playful learning scenarios.
