Syndicate: bouncing off the satellites

Trampoline is looking to commission a series of 5 postcards as part of its
'Bouncing off the Satellites' tour.

Each event on the tour looks at a different aspect of digital arts, from
webcast to game development, alongside trampoline's usual blend of digital
sound and video, installation and performance.

The five events are;

Game Boys and Tomb Raiders - Artist developed computer games
Homestead - Virtual villages and online communities
DVTV - Digital video and animation production and the underground filmmaker
Lights, Camera, Buffering... - Webcast. Live performance on the internet
picovision - WAP based artworks and interactive projects...

We would like to commission artists to create original postcard artworks for
each of these headings. The postcards will be distributed at trampoline
events and partner venues, and also through the bouncing off the satellites
website as e-cards. Artists are invited to submit work for any or all of the
headings, although each postcard will be by a seperate artist. The
commission fee is ?100.

Trampoline presents Bouncing off the Satellites 01:Game Boys and Tomb
Raiders.

Trampoline launches its regional tour with an evening of manic miner's and
virtua fighters duking it out around the building.

In the early eighties, we spent hours typing in code from magazines into our
ZX Spectrums, just to make a dot move across the screen. A couple of years
later, we gave it all up, bought ourselves a SEGA, and let someone else do
all the hard work. With the advent of software like Flash and Director
alongside open source games though, a whole new world of game developers is
emerging, swapping tips, techniques and games through the internet...

Game Boys and Tomb Raiders is an opportunity to meet underground game
developers and digital artists who are developing games, find out how it's
done and get the chance to play some of the strangest games from the web
alongside the usual blend of film and video, music and installation.

Monday 18th June 8pm Broadway Media Centre, Nottingham uk

Tickets ?3.50/?2.50 (single ticket covers screenings and guest speakers in
cinema 2, installations in Mezz and Seminar Room). Events in the Caf? Bar
are free.

Trampoline is an open submission digital arts and new media platform event.
If you would like to submit work, please contact us at the above address.

The trampoline site is currently being redeveloped. you can visit it at
