Trampoline launches its regional tour with an evening of manic miner's and virtua fighters duking it out around the building. In the early eighties, we spent hours typing in code from magazines into our ZX Spectrums, just to make a dot move across the screen. A couple of years later, we gave it all up, bought ourselves a SEGA, and let someone else do all the hard work. With the advent of software like Flash and Director alongside open source games though, a whole new world of game developers is emerging, swapping tips, techniques and games through the internet... Game Boys and Tomb Raiders is an opportunity to meet underground game developers and digital artists who are developing games, find out how it's done and get the chance to play some of the strangest games from the web alongside the usual blend of film and video, music and installation. Monday 18th June 8pm Broadway Media Centre, Nottingham uk Tickets ?3.50/?2.50 (single ticket covers screenings and guest speakers in cinema 2, installations in Mezz and Seminar Room). Events in the Caf? Bar are free. Trampoline is an open submission digital arts and new media platform event. If you would like to submit work, please contact us at the above address.
