AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 1996 CALL FOR ENTRIES This year Amnesty international's film festival will take place in Amsterdam, in De Balie and Alfa, from sunday september 15th till thursday september 19th. The competetive festival will present a selection of: FEATURE FILMS, DOCUMENTARIES & EXPERIMENTAL- AND MULTI-MEDIA PROJECTS. A monetary award of $5000,- will be presented to the director of the work that best adresses a theme within the festival. ALL FILMS AND VIDEOS MUST ADDRESS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING THEME'S -Capital punishment and the need for revenge -Sexual orientation and human rights -Refugees -Human rights in China, with a special emphasis on human rights and economic development -Freedom of speech and freedom of religion -Children, youth and human rights INTERACTIVE AND MULTI-MEDIA WORKS SHOULD ADDRESS HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE GENERAL MEANING OF THE TERM. Sample tapes of completed works or work-in progress on VHS, BETACAM or U-Matic format on NTSC, SECAM or PAL can be submitted. Deadline 10 May 1996 You may submit a broad variety of new media applications such as CD-Roms, WWW sites, (Interactive) installations, and if appropriate databases.
