III INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION ON NEW TECHNOLOGIES: ART & COMMUNICATION 8 - 16 November 1997 VALENCIA (SPAIN) Information society has once again been greatly affected by a new impact: a genuine technological revolution that has pulverized the many classical references and that is conditioning and modifying standards, perceptions, discourse and structures. Innovative digital technology and telecommunications are generating new dimensions in the art world. In this context, CIBER@RT ( III International Exhibition on New Technologies: Art & Communication) has as its goal that of being an open forum for debate, exhibitions and the exchange of ideas, in addition to being a place where Technology and the Humanities join together with Science and Art. Its objective includes that of fomenting research, exhibitions, promotion and renovation within the various artistic disciplines that explore a new conceptual aesthetics of audiovisuals, the media art and multimedia culture. Ciber@RT brings together such diverse areas of expression as electro-acustic music, video, photography, web art, installations, conferences, performances, CD ROM's , and many other kinds of artistic expressions derived from the digital culture. CATEGORIES 1) INTERNATIONAL PANORAMA Works can be submitted in video or film, as long as they make use of new technologies or can be considered within the context of the overall theme of the exhibition. Works of fiction, documentaries, art, simulation, special effects, publicity, etc. will be accepted. 2) SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES Works may be sent by individuals or officially presented by a school or a university. 3) WEB ART 4) CD ROM's 5) PERFORMANCES 6) INSTALLATIONS SUBMISSION OF WORKS The deadline for receiving all submitted works is Saturday, September 6, 1997.
