Using fire to fight fire is an extremely dangerous technique. It should be used only in the most desperate circumstances by the most highly skilled practitioners. The use of genetic manipulation by artists, even assuming it is being done on the side of the angels, is unlikely to be more than dangerous, self-promotional gimmickry. Artistic reactions to a danger can be effective without employing the dangerous techniques themselves. Unfortunately, we are in an age of extremely crude artistic expression where artists think it is more potent to use actual bullshit to depict bullshit.
